This girl deserves all the applause because she even worked on a midterm essay for two months, and I winced at that, because I’m known to do an essay within days of the due date, so I had to really respect her work ethic. She struggled with a learning disability tied to her ADHD and therefore fights with her own assumptions (and others) about her intelligence, and works triple-y hard on assignments. “It’s hard to believe that two weeks ago I was excited about seeing Fitzy. Now I’m dreading it. (Yes, it did feel like a New Girl situation and it was loads of fun.) But in terms of how she seriously dislike one of her roommates, Fitzy… well that’s another story and made for some juicy content.

That’s how she ends up living with three of her brother’s old hockey teammates :) Cue waggling eyebrows. Desperate, she calls her brother, who’d just graduated, to see if anyone he knew needed a roommate, and luckily, he did. We follow Summer as she transfers to a new college for her junior year, but is forced into a last-minute housing crisis, as she’s kicked out of her sorority (and sorority housing) upon arrival. I read this to fulfill the Reading Rush requirement to “Read a book set somewhere you wish you could go” (i.e., back to college) and for the OWLs Magical Readathon to “Read a book from the perspective of a muggle.”Īt first, I did not think I was going to like The Chase. On page 11, I seriously entertained the thought of setting this book down, because I didn’t want to read a book about a girl kicked out of her sorority and all the stereotypical sorority BS that comes with that. They write some steamy good college romances together, but I hadn’t read a college love story from just Elle Kennedy. I’m going to preface this by saying that I adore Elle Kennedy, especially when she writes in tandem with Sarina Bowen. So if my sexy brooding roomie wises up and realizes what he’s missing? I’ve got my hands full dealing with a new school, a sleazy professor, and an uncertain future. I’m not the kind of girl who chases after a man, though, and I’m not about to start. Fitzy has made it clear he’s not interested in me, even though the sparks between us are liable to burn our house down. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother.Īnd that his best friend has a crush on me.

His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald.
